Beavers

Beavers

Beaver Scouts (6-8)

Our Beaver Scout colony is for our youngest members of the group who are aged between 6 and 8 years. The 1st Stoughton Beaver colony started in 1988 with only 15 boys and has since grown 24 (our current maximum capacity) and now is proud to cater for a group with a mixture of boys and girls.

The activities are based around ”fun and friends”, building skills & relationships which will help them as they move through the scouting movement and outside. They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits to places and from people in the community, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

The Beavers also have opportunities to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

Activities are run by a talented and dedicated team of volunteers. Currently there is the Beaver leader (James), 2 assistant leaders, several parent helpers and in addition a team of young leaders, who are also working towards their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

As per most sections, we currently have a waiting list for new joiners; this is managed via Online Scout Manager (OSM). If you would like to add you child/children to our waiting list, please click below to take to the sign up page.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
